Debra Lee (Theel) Perry a life-long resident of the Quinault area went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 20, at the family home after a long illness. With her family by her side Debby slipped peacefully away. Debby was born April 30, 1952, born again September 1980, and translated to heaven March 20, 2017.

Debby was born in Aberdeen to parents Robert G. and Dorothy L. (Watson) Theel. She was a graduate of Lake Quinault School. She married her childhood friend and sweetheart Steven Perry on June 20, 1969.

Debby had many passions including spending time with friends and family, gardening, clamming, fishing, camping, traveling, and making things for and doting on her many grandchildren. Anyone who knew Debby knew of her pride and devotion for her sons and their families.

They also knew of her greatest passion and that was for the love of her savior. Debby surrendered her heart to him at the age of 30 and never looked back. Being quite bold in sharing her faith she led others to Christ as well. We will always remember her standing in his presence, worshiping with hands raised and her beautiful face lifted toward heaven. We believe this is a current picture of her as well.

Debby had been employed as a waitress, a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and recently retired after 16 years from the Lake Quinault School as a secretary in the district office, but she would tell you her real job was as wife to her husband and mother to her two sons. She and her husband traveled to Germany twice to visit their son and loved every minute of it, but were always happy to get back to the Quinault Valley, saying there is no place like home.

Debby is survived by her husband of 47 years at the family home; by her eldest son LTC Jason Perry, MD, his wife Charlotte, their children Alex, Greta and Katharina; and by her youngest son MAJ Benjamen Perry, Judge Advocate, his wife Trisha and their family Keelin, Elliott and Liberty all of Olympia, Wash.

Debby is survived also by her siblings Bobby Theel of Ocean Shores; Denny Theel and wife Candice of Neilton; Steve Theel of Medford, Ore.; Brenda Theel and husband Shad of Rochester; Cindy Allen and her husband Ron of Elma; and Jon Theel and wife Jennifer of Yelm as well as six grandchildren, twenty-five nieces and nephews, and two very special sisters in Christ, Jeanie Bryant and Lindsey Kargbo. Debby was preceded in death by her parents, an older sister Kathy, and an infant child.

A celebration of life will be held at the Quinault Valley Chapel on Burn Road in Neilton at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 with a potluck lunch to follow. Any donations may be made in her honor to the Lake Quinault Fire Department in Amanda Park.
