Dean Roy Weston, 72, of Hoquiam passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.

Dean Roy Weston, 72, of Hoquiam passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. Dean was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Tage and Ethel (French) Weston.

He was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1965. After graduation, Dean joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from August 1965 to August 1971; serving in Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Dean married L. Sue Duke on Feb. 28, 1967, in Altus, Okla. She survives him at the family home.

Dean had worked for Don L. Entus Log Road Construction for 36 years and had also worked for the Aberdeen and Cosmopolis Police Dept. for seven years.

He loved to hunt and fish and also liked working on cars.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son Erick Weston of Montesano; daughter Crystal Weston of Hoquiam; a brother Roger Weston of Aberdeen and a sister Sheila Winter of Snohomish, Washington; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at the Cosmopolis Lions Club, 601 2nd. A private family inurnment with military honors will take place at Wynooche Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
