Dale Lynn Brown, 69, Cosmopolis resident and former RN at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at her home in Cosi.

Dale was born in Stockton, California, to Allen Mack and Mildred Marion (Myers) Davis on Oct. 22, 1949. She grew up in Utah and Nevada and came to the Harbor in March of 1963. She graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1968.

Dale married Donald Brown on April 26, 1968. He passed away on June 25, 2003.

She went to DeWitts Beauty School and then to Grays Harbor Community College, where she graduated with her RN. Later in life she attended Phoenix College and received her BA and then master’s of nursing in 2008.

Dale worked as a “Candy Striper” at St. Joseph Hospital in North Aberdeen. She also waitressed at Spotlight on Simpson and the A&W until she graduated from Grays Harbor College. She started her nursing career at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, then to St. Peter’s in Olympia and later to Grays Harbor Community. She specialized in cardiac and trauma cases. She retired in 2010.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-Day Saints; Christian Women’s Club; Fiber Guild; sewing, quilting and needle work groups; Corvette Club, Midnight Cruisers Car Club and various Bible Study Groups.

Dale enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, skydiving, scuba diving, belly dancing, crochet and knitting, racing cars, bowling, tennis, playing cards and games.

Dale is survived by two sons: Shane Brown of Deming, New Mexico and Sean Brown of Aberdeen; two daughters: Marnie Hagadorn of Aberdeen and Heather K. Brown of Hayfork, California; two brothers: David Mack Davis of Kodiak, Alaska and Brian Aschim of Sequim, Washington; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kirah Lynn Brown, a brother Neil Davis and three sisters: Corey, Allene and Susie.

There will be a celebration of Dale’s life on April 4, at Noon at Central Park Baptist Church.

She will be inurned in a private service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cosi.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
