Clarence “Bud” Presswood Sr.

Clarence W. “Bud” Presswood Sr., age 89, longtime Wishkah resident, passed away on March 3, 2018, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Wash., following a long-term illness.

Clarence W. “Bud” Presswood Sr., age 89, longtime Wishkah resident, passed away on March 3, 2018, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Wash., following a long-term illness. He was born on Feb. 6, 1929, in East St. Louis, Mo., to Clarence Oscar Presswood and Anna (Dickshot) Presswood. Bud was raised and attended school in Sparta, Ill.

He married Edna Mae (Schaller) Presswood on Feb. 24, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo.

Bud had worked for 39 years as a Machine Tender with Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in Longview, Wash. and Cosmopolis, Wash., retiring in 1991.

He was a past member and Deacon of Aberdeen Avenue Baptist Church, and score keeper at Wishkah sporting events in the 1970s.

After retiring, Dad and Mom traveled across the U.S. in their RV, seeing sites and visiting family and friends. Dad loved spending time outdoors camping with his children and grandchildren. He loved visiting with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners.

Bud is survived by his wife Edna Mae (Schaller) Presswood of Olympia; sons Clarence W. (Buddy) Presswood Jr. (Darlene Gunter) of Hoquiam, Wash., Thomas A. Presswood of Mead, Wash. and Michael D. Presswood (Roseann) of Lacey, Wash.; daughters Patti S. Jenney (William) of Shawboro, N.C. and Linda K. Chilman (Lane) of Hoquiam, Wash.; brother Hank (Henry) Presswood (Wilma) of Houston, Ill.; grandchildren Angela (Joe) Fuquay of North River, Wash., Caitlyn Presswood of Spokane, Wash., Justin Ridgway (Candice Messenger) of Montesano, Wash., Jarod (Denise) Ridgway of Moyock, N.C., Andrea Chilman of Hoquiam, Wash., Rachael (Josh) Hansin of Windemere, Fla., Sarah Jenney (Sean Poppert) of Harpers Ferry, Va., Kevin (Allison) Shay of Olympia, Wash., Angela Smasal of Lacey, Wash., Michelle Toepelt of South Bend, Wash., and Brian Osbekoff of North River, Wash.; great-grandchildren Corey Smasal, Riley (Katie Mudd), Reuben, Jesse Francis, Pyper West, Sara, Katie, Emily Ridgway, Nolan, Colten Shay, Sierra, Hailey Jo Fuquay, Trevor, Braden, Preston Toepelt, and Malaki Osbekoff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by sister Georgia Pierce (Dave); brothers Thomas (Margie) Presswood, Fred (Norma) Presswood, and Robert (Bob) (Jeanne) Presswood; and nephews Henry Presswood, Bobby Presswood, and James Presswood.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Wishkah Valley Community Church, 4281 Wishkah Road, Aberdeen, Wash. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 1 p.m.
