Bill Hurley passed away June 16, 2018, in Marlton, N.J.

Bill Hurley passed away June 16, 2018, in Marlton, N.J. He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on Feb. 28, 1952. He attended school in Napavine, Porter and Elma, graduating from Elma High School in 1969. While in high school, he participated in football and wrestling. He joined the Navy shortly after graduation where he served 10 years mostly under the sea, in nuclear submarines. He served on the USS Pulaski and the USS Stonewall Jackson. He worked at various power plants including Hanford, 3 Mile Island, Cherry Hill, N.J. and last served as engineering supervisor at B.L. England Power Plant in New Jersey, where he retired in 2015. Bill enjoyed bicycling and hiking, participating in the Klein Classic and Wolf Haven rides, as well as climbing Mount St. Helens three or four times, seeing the crater twice!

He is survived by his partner, Linda Boyd; his children: William Henry Hurley Jr. (Kim), Jeanette Galasso (Barry), Lindsay Boyd (Dwight) and Christopher Boyd (Kimberly); his mother Tavi Murray and three sisters: Beth Bailey (Jerry), Shawnie VanLeeuwen (Larry) and Chris Boling (John); 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. He also loved his pets, including Muffin, Speck and Pepper. He was preceded in death by his father Franklin “Ike” Murray, in Feb. 2018.
