Bernice Hulda Fate, 84, died in her sleep with her family present.

She was raised in New Jersey and had lived in California, Washington and Montana before moving back to Washington.

She married Walter Donald Fate. They were married for 67 years.

She was a homemaker and volunteered at various churches. She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Walter, sons: Brian David Fate, Gary Allen Fate, Kevin Bruce Fate and Darren Jay Fate, daughters, Stephanie Simian and Penny Ballenger, a brother, Julius Webber and sisters, Beverly Pleskun, Marilyn Webber and Denise Hevly. She had 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Walter Donald Fate II, preceded her in death.

A memorial will be held at Faith Community Church, 240 Canal Dr. SE, Ocean Shores, WA on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.
