Washington State University will offer an all-day workshop on Saturday, Oct. 13, for forest property owners who are interested in growing red alder.

The workshop will include demonstrations and a field tour covering subjects such as alder ecology and silviculture, alder markets and products, log grading and options for existing unmanaged alder stands.

The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Custer Creek Tree Farm, 2943 SR 6 in Raymond.
