A special county election filing period ends at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

After the initial filing period, 21 offices across the county lacked candidates.

The positions included school board seats in North Beach, Quinault, Satsop, North River, Oakville and Rochester; and offices at five fire districts.

Elections Administrator Scott Turnbull said the county already has received one candidate filing for the Hoquiam Council, Ward 6, Position 12 seat.

The following elected positions in the county were left uncontested after the first filing period. A second filing period began Monday and ends at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
