Seattle bicyclist injured in hit-and-run on State Route 109

A 31-year-old Seattle bicyclist was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on State Route 109 on Monday night.

The Washington State Patrol reports the bicyclist was southbound on the shoulder of State Route 109 near Burrows Road shortly after 11 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a southbound vehicle. The offending vehicle continued southbound, as the bicycle rider came to rest in the ditch.

The bicyclist was sent to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The State Patrol is investigating, adding the offending vehicle likely has damage to its passenger side, including a missing passenger-side mirror.
