Grays Harbor Fire District 5 Chief Dan Prater was placed on administrative leave last week.

Fire District 5 Commission Chairman Jim Crisp said in an email that Prater “was placed on administrative leave on April 17th while the fire district conducts a financial investigation” by the state Auditor’s Office.

KXRO radio reported that Battalion Chief Adam Fulbright is acting chief during the review.

Crisp would not provide further details.

Fulbright could not be reached by Wednesday afternoon.
