Apparent SR 12 road rage incident sends one to the hospital Tuesday morning

State Patrol: Driver rammed back and front of vehicle near the Monte-Brady Road exit

An apparent case of road rage sent a Gig Harbor man to Grays Harbor Community Hospital on Tuesday morning when he was twice rammed by another vehicle on State Route 12, two miles east of Montesano, according to a State Patrol report.

The report said both vehicles were westbound on State Route 12 near the Monte Brady Road exit. Just after 7:30 a.m., a 2003 Dodge Dakota — driven by the 50-year-old Gig Harbor man — was in front of a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek driven by a 59-year-old Seattle man. The report indicates the Seattle man rammed the back of the Gig Harbor man’s vehicle. When the Gig Harbor man pulled to the left shoulder to call 911, the Seattle man reportedly pulled in front of him, put the car in reverse and rammed the front of the Gig Harbor man’s vehicle.

The driver of the Dodge Dakota was transported by aid to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the Subaru was not injured, nor was a passenger in his car, a 54-year-old Gig Harbor woman.

The Seattle man faces charges of second-degree assault and that charge and others will be forwarded to the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the State Patrol report. Witnesses to the incident are encouraged to contact Trooper Mariakis at 360-473-0300.
