The 11th annual Burning Bears celebration lit up the sub-freezing night at the Ocean City Market Place last Saturday, with one of the founders of the event, Ivan Hass, foreground, presiding over the festive burning of the 12-foot carved bear. Along with the community bonfire, dozens of chainsaw artists from around the area hold an auction at the Market Place, which has become a fixture for wood arts and crafts in the bend on State Route 109.
