Two Harborites compete for Miss Washington USA

Miss Clark County Abbie Kondel was crowned Miss Washington USA on Saturday at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

The contest included two young women with ties to the Harbor: Grace Aiken and Kayla Bryson.

Aiken attended Elma High School and participated in the Running Start program at South Puget Sound Community College. She is currently attending Washington State University. Her family lives in Montesano.

Aiken sang “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus for the talent portion of the state contest.

“Grace represented Grays Harbor beautifully. We could not be more prouda of her,” said Liisa Mayberry, the local program director. “We are excited to have her back to continue her reign as Miss Grays Harbor.”

Bryson, also from Montesano, competed as Miss Whatcom County. She currently attends the University of Puget Sound.
