Rod Fest cruising into Aberdeen

The Midnight Cruizers’ eighth annual Rod Fest will take over the intersection of Market and Broadway in downtown Aberdeen on Saturday.

The Midnight Cruizers’ eighth annual Rod Fest will take over the intersection of Market and Broadway in downtown Aberdeen on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s event includes vehicles from Oregon, Arizona, Idaho and Montana, as well as a multitude from both sides of the Cascades in Washington, said club spokesman Mike Myers. They will include classic cars with gleaming chrome, modified cars with hot paint jobs, and custom street rods with fat tires and wheels.

The first 150 entries will receive dash plaques, and more than 40 awards are up for grabs. Door prizes and goodie bags also will be offered.

This will be a family-friendly gathering, with music, food and other vendors. Related activities will include a Poker Walk and a 50/50 raffle benefiting Meals on Wheels.
