Local works to be auctioned at annual Art Guild fundraiser

Event is Saturday at 200 W. Market St. starting at 7 p.m.

Original works by local artists will be auctioned at the Harbor Art Guild’s annual fundraiser Saturday evening.

The guild is the organization behind Six Rivers Gallery, which is housed in the Aberdeen Art Center.

Items to be sold include a brightly colored ceramic piece by Westport artist Kimmi Kerns of Havenwyld Ceramics; a series of nine paintings in Elma artist Deanna Killiz’s “Dancers” series; and a colorful handmade Native American dress and accessories donated by Isa “Kitty” Mady.

In addition to the auction, the guild will conduct a raffle and a 50/50 cash drawing. The event also will feature a used art supplies corner and a live painting demonstration. Live music, a dessert bar, a beer and wine bar, and gourmet appetizers will be offered.

Aberdeen Art Center director Doug Orr said the funds raised will help the guild cover operating costs such as rent and utilities.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Art Center, 200 W. Market St., Aberdeen. Admission is $10 at the door.
