This is a response to Larry Wakefield’s March 16, letter to the editor, “There’ only one answer.” I’ve never read a letter with so much misinformation. A few facts that might clear the air are in order.

1. The hordes of immigrants are trying to cross our borders illegally, where our ancestors followed the rules.

2. They are not waiting to cross the border legally. Thousands come over every month illegally.

3. The fact that Mexico offered them asylum. They can no longer enter here.

4. The Electoral College allows each state to participate in the election of our president. Without it, states like California and New York would determine the outcome every time. No candidate would campaign in any other state.
