Cheers to ‘Days Gone By’

Some of my classmates made me aware of an article on July 21, looking back 50 years ago where I made a headline.

First, I am humbled and pleasantly surprised.

I would like to personally thank Karen Barkstrom for digging in your archives and publishing my short story about the Soap Box Derby. Oh, what fun.

I’ve had the pleasure of being covered a number of times representing Aberdeen High School in cross country and track. I cherished my time in Aberdeen and have wonderful memories to include the one you published on me recently. I was born and raised in Aberdeen and currently live in McMinnville, Oregon, with my wife, Elaine.

Best regards. And thank you again. She has touched my heart in publishing such nice news.
