Emerson receives H&R Block award

H&R Block recognized 24 company and franchise associates, including Shawn Emerson of Aberdeen, for going above and beyond for their clients with the 2019 Henry W. Bloch Excellence in Client Service awards. The awards recognize H&R Block and Block Advisors tax-office associates for their extraordinary client service, exceptional tax expertise and ongoing commitment to solve problems and advocate for clients.

Emerson is a senior tax analyst and instructor for H&R Block, a global tax services provider. She started her career with H&R Block 16 years ago in a small town in Nevada and has been providing expert tax advice and preparation support for taxpayers in Aberdeen since 2007. She specializes in small businesses, rental properties, military tax situations, stocks, capital gains, retirement and tax planning. In her free time, she enjoys racing her custom-built dragster.

Award winners toured and later attended the dinner awards ceremony with H&R Block senior management at H&R Block’s world headquarters, which anchors the Power and Light district in downtown Kansas City.

Business after Hours next week

Greater Grays Harbor Inc. and Great Northwest Federal Credit Union will host Business after Hours on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Catering will be provided by O’Brien’s. The event will be held at the GNFCU branch at 301 West Wishkah St. in Aberdeen from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
