The Raymond Seagulls downed the Ocosta Wildcats in two close sets to win the final of the Raymond Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Saturday in Raymond.

The Seagulls got 10 kills from sophomore Karsyn Freeman, five kills from Kassie Koski and four aces from Caton Swogger in the 27-25, 25-21 victory over the Wildcats in the final.

Raymond defeated North Beach 25-20 and 25-16 in the semifinal round, with Freeman (12 kills), Alia Enlow (6 kills) and Megan Kongbouakhay (23 assists) leading the way.

Ocosta downed South Bend to reach the final and were led in pool play by Alexia Bradley (24 kills), Brynn Rasmus (34 assists) and Taylor Stoll (100% service).

“We played toe-to-toe with Raymond in set one. They served tough and we have been working hard on improving our serve receive since our last meeting,” Ocosta head coach Erin Snider said. “Our improvement there helped us get our offense set up. I am very happy with the performance of our team today.”

Elma 174, Tenino 187

Elma defeated Tenino 174-187 on Thursday at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma.

Elma’s Grant Vessey won Medalist honors, shooting a personal best 9-hole round of 37 to lead the Eagles.

Montesano 194, Hoquiam 205

Consistent scoring from Montesano led to a 194-205 victory over Hoquiam on Thursday at Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis.

Hoquiam’s Mick Bozich and Riley Montoure earned co-Medalist honors, each recording a 9-hole round of 46.

But led by a 47 from Gavin Root and four scores of 50 or below, Montesano earned the victory.
