Montesano struggled against a solid 4A team, losing 10-0 in five innings against Puyallup on Saturday in Montesano.

The Bulldogs (9-4 overall) managed just one hit off Vikings starter Lauryn Krick, who retired 15 of 16 batters faced after surrendering a first-inning leadoff single to Monte left fielder Liv Robinson.

Monte trailed 3-0 after Puyallup’s Kyra Smith hit a two-run home run in the top of the third.

The Vikings (11-2) added five in the top of the fourth and two in the fifth to put the game in mercy-rule territory.

Montesano managed just two total bases in the game, never having a runner advance past first base against the stingy pitching of Krick.
