Indians 37, Gulls 29
RAYMOND — A pivotal fourth quarter decided a close one between South Bend and Raymond but the Indians hit more shots down the stretch for a Pacific League victory Tuesday at Raymond.
Karley Reidinger and Hannah Byington scored 13 points apiece to lead South Bend (4-2, 5-2). Jessica Sanchez contributed 12 rebounds, seven steals and six assists for the Tribe, while Katelyn Doyle hit some key free throws down the stretch.
Raymond’s Makenna Williams led all scorers with 15 points.
“Both teams played strong defense,” South Bend coach Gary Wilson said. “I thought the girls did a good midway through the fourth to control the tempo and hit shots.”
“Both teams played solid defense and our offense did well in spots,” Raymond coach Jason Koski observed. “But South Bend found a way to hit more shots in the fourth quarter,”
Makenna Williams scored a game high 15 points for Raymond while Karley Redinger was right behind her with 13.
South Bend’s next matchup is with Life Christian on Thursday while Raymond (2-4, 2-6) will go on the road to face Ocosta.

MENLO — Willapa Valley’s girls used a big second quarter and a 17-point performance from Hannah Cook to pull away from Ocosta in a Pacific League contest Tuesday at Tenoski Gym.
The Vikings (3-2, 6-2) shot well against the Wildcats (4-1, 6-2) and had three players score in double figures.
The Wildcats could not keep up with the Vikings offensive output due in part to the absence of Kjirstin Hopfer, which forced the Wildcats to alter their rotation. Erika Snider scored 16 for the Wildcats.
Vikings head coach Colby Rogers said he liked the way his team picked it up at the defensive end.
“We really played well defensively, especially in that third quarter,” he said.
On Thursday, Ocosta will be at home against Raymond while Willapa Valley will look for another road win against Chief Leschi.

CENTRALIA — Hoquiam’s girls couldn’t find the shooting touch in a non-league loss to Centralia on Tuesday.
The Grizzlies (2-5) struggled mightily from the field but had success at the free throw line to keep the game from getting out of hand.
Hoquiam head coach Mark Maxfield said shot selection was not the issue.
“We were getting good looks but they just weren’t going down,” he said. “Even though it was a frustrating game, I liked their effort.”
Hoquiam’s junior varsit also lost 36-26 while the C Team won 39-12.
