Montesano completed an undefeated league season with an 8-0 victory over Hoquiam on Thursday at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam.

Monte (14-1 overall, 8-0 1A Evergreen) was firing in all cylinders in Thursday’s regular-season finale against the Grizzlies (2-11-1, 1-7).

First-half goals by Paige Lisherness (13th minute), Mikayla Stanfield (18th minute, assist Vanna Prom; 21st minute, assist Bethanie Henderson) and Anabelle Estrada had Monte up 4-0 with just under five minutes to go until halftime.

Playing on the wet, muddy field conditions of historic Olympic Stadium didn’t slow down Monte’s potent offense at all as the Bulldogs continued to apply pressure in the second half.

Stanfield — a sophomore — scored off another assist from Prom in the 50th minute followed by her fourth goal of the game in the 56th minute.

Monte held a 20-6 advantage in shots with 14 of the Bulldogs attempts being on-goal.

Monte keeper Riley Timmons saved both shots she faced on frame.

Stanfield’s four goals were the sixth time she has scored at least three goals in a game and now gives the front-runner for the 1A Evergreen League MVP 28 goals on the season.

Morrison has also had a standout season as the speedy senior midfielder/forward end the regular season with 17 goals, giving third-ranked Monte a formidable 1-2 punch on the offensive end.

Jaiden King and Estrada led Monte in assists this season — with seven and six, respectively — for a Montesano team that tallied 33 assists on 66 of its goals.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to host a district playoff game at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4 (opponent to be determined).

Hoquiam ends its season in fourth place in the five-team league, with its lone league victory coming in a 2-1 win over Eatonville back on Oct. 21.
