Local softball team qualifies for world championships

The Place to Be 40’s senior softball team, formerly known as the Harbor Stars, qualified for the World Championship Softball Tournament to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada Sept. 27-29.

The team, comprised of mostly Grays Harbor area athletes 40-49 years of age, qualified for the championships after a summer full of league play and success in three tournaments. The 40’s won the Northwest Cup in Lacey, placed second at the Classic Rock Tournament (also in Lacey), and took second in the Jim Sherman Memorial Tournament held in Salem, Oregon.
