Ocosta 41, Raymond 6
Quarterback Cole Hatton threw five touchdowns to lead Ocosta to its first win over Raymond in a decade in a 41-6 victory on Friday in Westport.
Hatton opened the scoring with a 23-yard TD toss to receiver Dylan Mefford to go up 7-0 at the 3:01 mark of the first quarter.
Raymond (2-5, 2-2 Pacific 2B) responded when running back Joseph Villalpando broke loose for a 95-yard scoring run. But the point-after was no good, allowing Ocosta to hold on to a slight 7-6 lead at the 2:41 mark of the quarter.
From that point on, the game belonged to Hatton and Ocosta. The senior quarterback threw a 7-yard TD pass to Mefford with just over a minute to go in the first quarter followed by a 35-yard scoring strike to running back Dakota Davis. Hatton ran in the two-point conversion to give Ocosta a 22-6 lead heading into halftime.

Ocosta extended its lead in the third quarter as Hatton completed two big touchdown passes for scores. Receiver Brandon Thomas scored on a 50-yard reception from Hatton with 6:19 to go in the third quarter. Omar Luque caught Hatton’s fifth TD pass of the game on a slant route for a 40-yard touchdown with 3:06 left in the third, to give the Wildcats a commanding 35-6 lead.
Ocosta senior Jorge Orozco moved to the backfield from his normal spot on the offensive line and scored on a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter to seal the 41-6 victory.
Villalpando finished with 171 rushing yards on 18 carries for a banged-up Seagulls team.
Hatton finished 8-for-15 for 278 yards to go along with his five touchdowns.
Davis rushed for 83 yards and had 115 yards receiving for Ocosta.
Ocosta linebacker Isaac O’Hagan led the Wildcats with 12 tackles, three for a loss, and one sack as the Ocosta defense continued to hold opponents scoreless in the second half this season.
“Our defense continued to play as physical as they have all year,” Ocosta head coach Chris Raffelson said. “They matched Raymond’s speed and were able to slow down their running game.”
With the win, Ocosta stays perfect on the season, running its overall record to 7-0 and 3-0 in the 2B Pacific – Coastal League.
The victory was a significant one for the Wildcats, as they haven’t defeated Raymond since a 24-22 win in 2009.
Ocosta is tied for first place in the league with Pe Ell-Willapa Valley, which defeated North Beach 50-0 on Friday.
The Wildcats and Titans square off for a game that will likely decide the league title at 7 p.m. on Friday at Willapa Valley High School.
Raymond completes the league portion of its schedule when it hosts Ilwaco at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Elma 54, Tenino 7
The Elma Eagles football team’s season thus far can be summed up with one obvious phrase: As Cody Vollan goes, so do the Eagles.
Elma’s senior quarterback, who had been sidelined with a recent injury, returned to guide the Eagles offense to a 54-7 drubbing over the Tenino Beavers on Friday at Davis Field in Elma.
Vollan was a perfect 7-for-7 for 183 yards and tossed four touchdowns.
Elma (4-4, 1-1 Evergreen 1A) jumped out to a 47-0 lead by halftime.

Vollan’s favorite target on the night was dynamic running back Brady Shriver, who caught five passes for 130 yards and found the end zone a whopping five times on Friday. Shriver scored on receptions of three, 37 and three yards and ran for touchdowns of one and 34 yards in his wildly-productive game.
Vollan threw a TD pass to Tysen Richardson, a 26-yarder with 3:22 left in the first quarter that gave Elma a 20-0 lead.
Elma’s leading rusher on the night was Conan Baxter, who had 93 yards on seven carries and scored a pair of touchdowns. Baxter punched the ball in from 2-yards out to give Elma a 47-0 lead with 3:29 to go until halftime and on a 3-yard run to put the Eagles up 54-0 midway through the third quarter.

Tenino (2-5, 0-3) scored a garbage-time touchdown when Takari Hickle scooped up an Elma fumble and ran it in for a 9-yard touchdown return, snapping the Eagles’ shutout bid.
Elma out-gained Tenino 379-125 and averaged 10 yards per play to just 2.5 for the Beavers.
The win puts Elma in a three-way tie with Hoquiam and Forks for second place in the 1A Evergreen League.
The Eagles will face Forks at Spartan Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Black Hills 49, Aberdeen 28
Aberdeen’s playoff hopes took a hit on Friday as the Bobcats were outscored by 14 points in the fourth quarter in a 49-28 loss to Black Hills at Tumwater District Stadium.
Aberdeen held a lead for much of the first quarter, but a key turnover late in the half had the Bobcats playing catch-up the rest of the game.
Running back Ethan Morrill opened the scoring with a 3-yard TD run with just over four minutes elapsed in the game.
Black Hills (2-5, 1-2 Evergreen 2A) knotted the game up at 6-6 on a scoring run five minutes later but Aberdeen (2-5, 1-2) responded when Morrill scored on a 9-yard run. His subsequent two-point conversion gave the Bobcats a 14-6 second-quarter lead.
The Wolves scored on a 52-yard run on their next possession, but Aberdeen once again drove down the field and were in position to take a two-score lead heading into halftime.
Facing a 4th-and-goal situation at the Black Hills 8-yard line, an Aberdeen fumble was recovered by Black Hills with approximately two minutes to go in the half.
A few plays later, Black Hills scored on a 74 yard pass-and-catch to take a 20-14 lead into the break.
Black Hills scored again early in the second half to take a 27-14 lead. But Aberdeen got back to within a touchdown when Patrick Hunt scored on a 15-yard run to cut the Wolves’ lead to 27-20 with a minute left in the third quarter.
After Black Hills took a 33-20 lead on a 10-yard scoring run a minute into the fourth quarter, Aberdeen’s Gio Pisani returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Morrill converted the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 34-28.
But the Aberdeen defense couldn’t make a goal line stand, allowing Black Hills to score on a 4th-and-goal play from the 2-yard line, allowing the Wolves to take a 42-28 lead with approximately eight minutes left in the game.
The Wolves tacked on another rushing touchdown four minutes later to seal the 49-28 victory over the Bobcats.
Aberdeen hosts Rochester at 7 p.m. Friday at Stewart Field.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 50, North Beach 0
Pe Ell-Willapa Valley was dominant on offense and suffocating on defense in a 50-0 road win over North Beach on Friday.
Kollin Jurek and Max Smith fueled the PWV offense with a combined 267 rushing yards to help the Titans (3-3, 3-0 Pacific 2B) remain undefeated in league play.
Smith finished the game with 15 carries for 145 yards and a score while Jurek tallied 122 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns.
Jurek scored just 12 seconds into the game with a 48-yard run that put PWV up 8-0 early on.
The Titans found the end zone again on the next drive with a 28-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Adkins to receiver Wyatt Bush to put the Titans up 15-0 with 7:22 left in the opening frame.
Jurek found the end zone three more times before the end of the night while Smith also helped move the ball on the ground with 145 yards.
The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley defense also put up impressive numbers and limited the Hyaks (0-6, 0-3) to minus-19 yards of total offense.
PWV assistant coach John Peterson said it was an impressive effort all around.
“The kids played really, really hard and defensively we played outstanding. We limited (North Beach) with what they were trying to do,” he said. “Other than a hiccup in the second quarter where we didn’t execute, but having two 100-yard rushers was big. It was a good divisional win.”
The Titans will face Ocosta in a game with league title implications in Menlo on Friday at 7 p.m.
North Beach will be looking for its first win at Chief Leschi on Friday at 7 p.m.
