Montesano teams compete at state Little League tournaments

Majors team out after two losses, Juniors still alive

Montesano had two teams compete in state Little League tournaments this past weekend.

Here’s a look at how they fared.

Monte Majors All-Stars out after two losses

Montesano’s 12U Majors All-Star Team’s visit to the Little League State Tournament was short-lived after back-to-back losses this past weekend in Lynnwood.

The District 3 champs were no-hit in a 13-0 four-inning loss to Issaquah on Saturday followed by a 10-0 loss, also in four innings, to Cascade Little League on Sunday.

In Sunday’s loss, Montesano managed four hits in the game with Anderson Potts, Jace Galeana, Tracker Winkelman and Alex Bale all collecting one hit apiece, with Bale hitting a double for Monte’s only extra-base hit of the game.

With the two straight losses, Montesano was eliminated from the tournament.

Monte Juniors All-Stars stay alive

The Montesano Juniors All-Star Team rebounded from a first-round loss to stay alive in the Washington Little League State Tournament this past weekend in Port Orchard.

Montesano lost a close 6-4 game to District 1 champion Pacific on Saturday before picking up a 13-3 win over District 10 South Hill on Sunday in the elimination bracket.

No further information was available at the time of this writing.

Montesano will face District 6 Ridgefield at 4:30 p.m. Monday in another elimination-bracket game.
