KALAMA — Continuing its hot streak at the plate, Pe Ell-Willapa Valley outslugged Kalama, 27-0 and 18-0, in a Central 2B League doubleheader on Monday afternoon.

Played in a light rain, the Titans (12-0 overall) were led by Brittany Patrick’s 8-for-8 day, including two home runs, four doubles and 11 RBI. Dakota Brooks drove in eight runs in two games and picked up the win in the circle in the opener.

Kamryn Adkins won the second game in the circle for the Titans.

“Brittney is really a solid softball player; (today) was a day’s work and she’s only a freshman,” PWV head coach Ken Olson said. “We just pounded the ball today. Everything we hit today was on the screws.”

On Wednesday, PWV hosts Rainier in another doubleheader.

MONTESANO — Playing at Vessey Field in Montesano, Lake Quinault started early with a four-run first inning to outdistance Wishkah in a Coastal 1B League contest on Monday afternoon.

Allen Espinoza and Gabe Dominguez shared a two-hit, five-inning shutout on the mound. Espinoza led the team at the plate with two doubles and an RBI.

“(Allen) really works hard at everything,” Lake Quinault head coach Keith Samplawski said. “Gabe really did well to close the game for us.”

On Thursday, Quinault (3-1, 4-1) travels to North Beach.

Bulldogs win

ELMA — Macey Wecker’s stellar 42 led Montesano past Ilwaco and La Center in a three-way contest Monday at Oaksridge Golf Course.

With 204 strokes, the Bulldogs beat runner-up Ilwaco by 33 strokes. La Center had 272.

Wecker topped Ilwaco’s Aslyn Fisher and La Center’s Taylor Enteman for medalist honors in Monte’s first home match of the season.

“In a match that most likely featured the top three golfers in the 1A district, Macey came through big time,” Montesano coach Lloyd Aldrich said. “Once again, our depth as a team was outstanding.”

The Bulldogs face rival Elma on Thursday at Oaksridge.

Aberdeen’s well-balanced girls withstood rainy conditions to trounce Centralia in an Evergreen 2A League match played under the Stableford Scoring System Monday at Grays Harbor Country Club.

Aberdeen’s Haley Farrer took medalist honors with 23 points, edging teammates Mari Rabung (21) and Emily May (20).

“We seem to have a new medalist each match, which is nice to see,” Bobcat coach Dan Sundstrom said. “Sometimes we forget it is a team sport and we want all the players to be successful.”
