Bobcats tie Shelton 3-3, win on games won

The Aberdeen boys tennis team had a tie that turned into a win and the Ocosta girls soccer team scores 11 goals to highlight Wednesday’s Twin Harbors prep sports action.

BOYS PREP TENNIS

Aberdeen 3, Shelton 3 (AHS wins on games 35-29)

Aberdeen swept the singles, were swept in the doubles, and picked up a victory over the Shelton Highclimbers on games won at the conclusion of Wednesday’s match at Aberdeen High School.

Bobcats singles players Cody Sayres, Brice Kola and Tanner Fluery won their respective matches before Shelton took three straight in the doubles contests.

The Bobcats were awarded the victory with a 35-29 advantage in total games won.

Bellevue 13, Grays Harbor College 0

Bellevue’s Lauren Landis and Katelyn Evans scored five goals a peice as Grays Harbor College was shutout 13-0 in an Northwest Athletic Conference matchup in Bellevue on Wednesday.

The Chokers (0-5 overall, 0-3, NWAC) are not only looking for their first win but are looking for their first goal since they fell to Treasure Valley 4-1 on Aug. 24.

Bellevue (5-0-1, 3-0-1) remained unbeaten this season with the victory.

Grays Harbor recorded one shot on goal in the match.

PREP VOLLEYBALL

Naselle 3, Wishkah Valley 0

Wishkah Valley lost its season-opening game in straight sets to Naselle on Wednesday at Naselle High School.

The Loggers fell 25-11, 25-14 and 25-13.

After the loss, Loggers head coach Katerina Eaton stated she was proud of her players’ effort.

“The girls worked hard tonight and I’m proud of their play,” she said before crediting her opponent. “Naselle has some strong servers and hitters.”

Wishkah plays the second of back-to-back games when the Loggers host North Beach at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

GIRLS PREP SOCCER

Ocosta 11, Toutle Lake 0

Ten different Wildcats scored 11 goals as Ocosta beat Toutle Lake, 11-0, on Tuesday at Ocosta High School.

The Wildcats (4-2) built a 6-0 lead at halftime and were able to substitute multiple players against the Ducks, which are a first-year program.

Ocosta keepers Kristi Raffelson and Devyn Martin (playing her first game in goal) combined for the shutout.

Despite the double-digit scoring night, the only Wildcat to score more than one goal was Piper Furford, who scored a pair of goals.

Also scoring for Ocosta was Miki Ness, Teal Mitby, Kennedy Merino, Nevaeh Smith, Maia Soderlund, Davina Andersen, Kianna Battiste, Mercedes Denny and Kendal Wilson.
