CORRECTION: Updated times and dates of games.

Hoquiam, Montesano, Elma and Pe Ell-Willapa Valley found out where their quests for a state championship will begin as the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association released its first-round playoff parings for the football state tournaments on Sunday.

1A Evergreen league champion Hoquiam (9-0) earned the highest seed of any Twin Harbors teams. The Grizzlies enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed and will host 14th-seed Stevenson (7-1) at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Olympic Stadium.

The league’s second-place team, Montesano (9-2), earned a No. 8 seed, meaning they’ll host a first-round playoff game against No. 9 Mt. Baker (7-4) at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Elma (8-2) earned a No. 13 seed in the 16-team tournament and will have to win on the road against No. 4 Meridian (7-3) if they are to make a run to a state title. They play at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Bellingham.

In the 2B section, Coastal-league champion PWV (9-2) wasn’t done any favors by the seeding committee, receiving a No. 10 seed and will have to play on the road against No. 7 Northwest Christian (8-2) at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Riverside High School.
