Warren Rodney McDougall, a former shingle packer and janitor, died on June 18, 2023, at Westhaven Villa Assisted Living Facility. Warren was born on May 31, 1927, in Aberdeen to Herbert and Delila (Ingalls) McDougall.

He attended school in Aberdeen and left school early to join the Navy. He was a WWII veteran. He was stationed in Guam and Saipan in the South Pacific. Upon returning home, he worked as a packer for 20 years at Saginaw Shingle Mill. He then went to work for A.B.C Janitorial for 25 years before retiring.

On April 16, 1949, he married Claire Johnston. They were married for more than 74 years. Warren loved going to garage sales, stamp collecting, and going for walks with his wife Claire “Nicky.”

Warren and Nicky often walked from their house on Wishkah Road down B Street to McDonald’s where they met friends and had coffee.

Warren is survived by his wife Claire in Aberdeen; sons Michal (Ellen) McDougall of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Greg (Kristi) McDougall of Hoquiam, Washington; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Delila (Ingalls) McDougall; sister Merille French; brothers Herb McDougall and Duane McDougall; and twin sister Wilma Scott.

Warren spent his final years at Westhaven Villa Assisted Living, where he was well cared for and loved by all the staff. The family would like to thank the staff of Westhaven Villa for all their care and compassion.

No formal services or memorials will take place for Warren, but internment will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery.
