On February 25, 2024 Vickie Lynn Johannes set out on her final adventure. Vickie left us with heavy hearts, great memories and family traditions in bulk.

Affectionately known to many as “Granny” due to her love for her numerous grandchildren, she was also a beloved mother, sister and friend to many. Vickie had a zest for life and a passion for adventure. Her journeys took her to 18 countries and many cruises. Vickie had a warm heart and enjoyed spreading kindness. She loved to cook and she loved to sew. Vickie sewed her own prom dresses and was awarded the Betty Crocker Homemaker medal when graduating Hoquiam High School. She shared her talents with as many people as she could. Vickie’s warm heart ran deep through her family and was contagious. With an extraordinary spirit, Vickie embraced every moment. She was young at heart and had a brave soul. She found joy in exploring new countries and seeking adventure. She loved bringing people together. To this day, her mandatory Sunday dinners live on.

Vickie Lynn Johannes was born September 23, 1949 in Chehalis, Washington. She attended Lincoln and Emerson grade schools. While attending Hoquiam High School, Vickie worked at Harbor Drug, and was involved in many clubs. Vickie “Granny” Johannes’ greatest achievement in life was the legacy she leaves with her family.

The daughter of the late Alfred William Harper and Eunice Virginia Dye Harper, Vickie is survived by her children Rebekah Keiser, Matthew Keiser, Carrie Johannes, Hannah Johannes and Zac Johannes. Her eldest daughter Sarah Harper Keiser, meets her on the other side. Vickie’s sister, Kathy Brown, and cousins Sidonie Harper Carpenter and Lawanna Souza were her life long nearest and dearest. Vickie “Granny” Johannes’ spirit lives on through her 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Even though Granny was taken from us too soon, she would want us to celebrate her life. The family would like to invited friends to a memorial on March 23, 3 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam, Washington.

In true Vickie essence, she would leave us all with a grandiose: Cheers!
