Sylvia C. Zeiler a resident of Aberdeen, Wash. since 1999 died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018.

Sylvia was 91 years old and had celebrated her birthday of June 25, 1927. She was born in Roseau, Minn. to Hrein and Mildred (Kjersten) Goodman. She attended high school in Piney Manitoba, Canada and graduated in 1945. In 1948 she graduated from nurses training in Winnepeg, Canada.

Sylvia’s first job after graduating nurses training was in Rolla, N.D., then Missoula, Mont.; Moses Lake, Wash. and Missoula, Mont.

She was married to Philip Zeiler in 1953 at Hamilton, Mont. and he died on Nov. 17, 1989. She had worked as a City Clerk in Darby, Mont. for three years; as volunteer for the United States Forest Service Visitors Center in Darby, Mont.; 11 years for Lamp Missionary in Northern Sask, Canada; had gone on a missionary trip to Mexico and worked for the Awana program. For years she had worked for Feed The Hungry at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen and had been a Sunday school teacher of the year in Montana. She was an avid bowler and had bowled on the Senior League in Aberdeen for years.

Sylvia was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, Ladies Aid Society and was a Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include her daughter, Mindy Zeiler of Aberdeen and a son, Philip (Skip) Zeiler of Columbia Falls, Mont.; her brothers, Marvin Goodman of Winepeg, Manitoba and Stanley Goodman of Piney, Manitoba; her sister, Ethelyn Beireis of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2515 Sumner Avenue in Aberdeen. Memorials can be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Post Office Box 1957, Aberdeen, WA 98520.
