Lucille was born on Feb. 10, 1921, in South Bend, Washington to Wilfred and Effa Peters. She married John E. McDowell in March 1949.

Together they built a home, raised three children, and owned and operated a paint store and contracting business. They enjoyed camping, weekends at Mason Lake, the beach, and supporting their kids’ sporting activities. Lucille and John spent 30 wonderful years together until he passed away in July 1979.

Lucille loved the Lord and was very involved with her church. She enjoyed music, dancing, rock hunting, travel, writing poetry, playing Friday night cards with her friends and shopping. She was always well dressed for any occasion. Lucille’s family and many friends were especially important to her.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Robert, and her husband John. She is survived by her children; John (Karen) of Newcastle, Nancy (Mike) of Snohomish, Jim (Melissa) of Aberdeen, eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
