Jim “J.R.” Mercier of Copalis Beach was born Feb. 27, 1951, and passed away Oct. 26, 2022. He was 71.

He worked at Van De Camp’s Bakery for 13 years.

He leaves six children — four girls and two boys — and 14 grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother Leona Baugus, stepdad Willie Baugus, both of Ocean Shores, father Bob Mercier, two sisters Darla Kirschenmann and Teresa McMurdle and one bother Rod Mercier.

He bartended at the Seagate in Pacific Beach. He played pool in Tacoma and around Grays Harbor. He loved Reno, clam digging and Coca-Cola.
