Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Kennedy

Longtime Westport resident Beth Kennedy passed away Feb, 23 from complications due to a stroke.

Longtime Westport resident Beth Kennedy passed away Feb, 23 from complications due to a stroke. Beth was born in Chandler, Arizona to parents Guy and Zelma Kennedy on March 19,1935.

Her infant twin Pauline preceded her in death along with her parents, four siblings, infant granddaughter Stephanie Furford and great-grandson Dylan Furford. She is survived by her brother Norman Kennedy, three children: Art (Joan ) McCan, Jeannie ( Mike ) Furford and Denise ( Randy ) Gustafson, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Beth spent her early years in Arizona before moving to Washington in the early 1960s. She did travel a bit including spending one year in Iran in the 1970s. Beth had a variety of jobs throughout the years including Executive Director of a non profit, bookkeeper, administrative assistant, bar tender, waitress and crab shaker. Beth was an avid reader and liked to do word puzzles to keep her mind sharp.

Beth had a great sense of humor and the one word used most often to describe her “spunky.”

The family would like to thank Beth’s caregiver Renee Caldwell for her compassion, kindness and friendship she provided over many years.

A celebration of Beth’s life will be announced at a later date.
