Diana Lynn Hume passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on June 24, 2023, at age 52, due to complications from diabetes. She was born on Oct. 18, 1970, and was raised by her grandmother and her close-knit band of friends in Neilton, Washington, graduating from Lake Quinault High School in 1989. She earned her BA in Reading from St. Martin’s University, and her Library Science Certification from the University of Washington. She was a preschool teacher, then director at Log Cabin Christian Preschool for over 20 years, then was kindergarten teacher at Holy Family School since 2020. Diana was a long-time and active member of Olympia Christian Reformed Church.

Diana loved to dance; swing was her favorite. She enjoyed walking her dogs, gardening, Bible studies, playing pickleball, and hanging out with friends and family. She was known for being a hard worker and provider, as well as caring, loving, kind to all of those around her, and for having the most infectious laugh. She had three cats, two dogs, and could drive almost anything, usually pretty fast, including a log truck!

Most of all, she loved her precious daughters Cait (19) and Lilli (14), and poured every ounce she had into their nurturing, happiness and wellbeing. She loved them fiercely and deeply. They enjoyed watching movies together and their annual trip to Cannon Beach every summer.

Diana is survived by her brother, Don Miller; her uncle, Les Miller; and her ex-husband, Tim Hume. She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Charles Miller; her father, Steve Miller; and her beloved gram, Betty Miller, who was the light and the heart and the soul of Diana’s life.

A memorial service will be held at Olympia Christian Reformed Church. A burial service will be held at Quinault Cemetery, where Diana’s ashes will be buried alongside her Gram. Service dates and times will be determined. Please check back here for updates.

To honor Diana, memorial donations are suggested to Holy Family School, designated as funds directly to teachers for their classroom supplies.
