Philip Oldham

OLYMPIA — Philip Oldham died Nov. 15, 2019, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 52.

He had been a lieutenant firefighter and paramedic for Grays Harbor Fire District 2 for 33 years.

A memorial service with full line-of-duty honors is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Evergreen Christian Community Church in Olympia.

Arrangements are by Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey.

Verna Copeland

Verna M. Copeland, a longtime resident of the Harbor, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 81.

She had worked for over 35 years for J.C. Penney and later as a slot attendant for Quinault Beach Resort & Casino.

Visitation will be at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday, Nov. 27. A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 14, at Alder Grove Church of God followed by a reception at the church. A private urn committal will precede the service at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
