Aberdeen cold weather shelter will not be open Friday

The temporary cold weather shelter in Aberdeen will not be in operation Friday night.

Grays Harbor County Public Health and the City of Aberdeen announced that because the forecast temperatures will not drop below 38 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, the shelter at the Polish Club will not open.

Grays Harbor County Public Health and the City of Aberdeen will update their websites with the current status of shelter operations.

Shelter operations for future dates will be contingent on confirmed adequate volunteers and finding suitable locations. Please contact Pastor Val Metropoulos at vmetropoulos001@luthersem.edu. to volunteer. To provide a suitable location, contact Cassie Lentz at clentz@co.grays-harbor.wa.us or 360-500-4049.

Donations of bottled water, non-perishable/soft foods, and other basic hygiene items may be dropped off at the shelter location during shelter operation hours or at the Coastal Community Action Program office at 101 East Market Street in Aberdeen during business hours.
