David Paul Schuldt, a loving husband, father and grandfather, was born on May 29, 1943, in Shelton, Washington. He peacefully departed this world on Dec. 16, 2023, after bravely facing a prolonged battle against a respiratory illness. At the age of 80, Dave left behind a legacy of love and dedication to both family and community.

Dave is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda, his daughter Sandy, and son Jon. He was also a proud and cherished grandfather to Taylor and Casey Waara, as well as Ava and Greta Schuldt.

A 1961 graduate of Aberdeen High School, Dave furthered his education at Bates Technical College in Tacoma. His professional journey began at Ovalstrapping Inc. in Hoquiam in 1967, where he started as a draftsman. Over the years, his dedication and hard work led him to retire in 2007 as the production manager.

Throughout his life, Dave was a devoted member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. From birth until his move to Lacey in 2010, he actively participated in the church community. Having been confirmed there, Dave generously gave his time as a Sunday School Teacher, an elder, and served as the president of the congregation. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and his contributions to the church were deeply appreciated.

In his well-deserved retirement, Dave pursued one of his passions — painting. He became known for his skill in capturing the essence of beloved animal companions in his portraits. Whether creating a lasting memory for family or friends, Dave’s artistic talent brought joy and comfort to those who were fortunate enough to receive one of his creations.

A memorial service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Lacey, on Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. Friends and family can join together to honor and remember the remarkable man who touched so many lives.
