Barbara J. Goodin, age 92, passed away peacefully, on Nov. 8, 2021, at the home of her son Thom.

Barb grew up in Raymond and worked in her mom’s restaurant, which she would later operate. She also worked as a beautician and later moved to Canada, where she and her husband Vern operated a logging camp. Later, they operated Bridges Inn and the Mountcastle Motel and renovated houses. And after raising three boys, Barb went back to school, earned a Master’s degree and taught public school.

Her interests were wide-ranging, from history to cooking to politics. She and Vern were avid gardeners — she grew the flowers and he grew the vegetables. And they were great animal lovers, always having a dog and usually several cats and sometimes chickens and ducks. In retirement, they loved to travel, especially to Alaska. But her greatest joys were friends and conversation.

Barb is survived by her sons, Lee, Thom and Fred, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
