Quinault Indian Nation opens offices in Hoquiam

Location puts tribal services within easy reach of off-reservation members

The Quinault Indian Nation unveiled its new offices at 400 8th St. in Hoquiam at an open house Nov. 16. The tribe purchased the building to replace the previous rented office space in Aberdeen.

Quinault Tribal Council member Aliza Brown was among those in attendance and had the honor of cutting the ribbon of the new location. The new location puts numerous tribal benefits within easy reach of the population of tribal members in the Aberdeen/Hoquiam area, she said, adding that only about one-third of tribal members live on the reservation.

The one-story building sits just north of the Hoquiam City Hall and is cut into three suites. Suite A houses the Roger Saux Health Center medical health office and chemical dependency, WIC, family services and health benefits services. Suite B holds the tribe’s TANF and New Opportunities programs; Suite C is a “floater office” for administration.
