The Grays Harbor Council of Governments is in the process of applying for a $600,000 EPA brownfield assessment grant. Working with the cities of Aberdeen, Hoquiam and Cosmopolis, and the firm Stantec, money from the grant would be used to find locations that would most benefit from cleanup and revitalization of old manufacturing and industrial sites. One area of interest is the old Posey Plant area in East Hoquiam.
