Elma High School student Taylor Clapp to serves as a page in the state House of Representatives.

Elma High School student Taylor Clapp traveled to Olympia recently to serve as a page in the state House of Representatives. She was sponsored by 19th District Rep. Jim Walsh.

“I want to thank Taylor for her service as a page last week,” said Walsh. “It’s always good to see how much each of these students learn when they come here for the week. Taylor did a great job. And she has some fantastic ideas about making good public policy. I was glad to sponsor her.”

Taylor is the daughter of Bruce and Aimee Clapp. When she is not in school, she participates in competitive pistol and action pistol through the Mason County Sportsmen’s Association.

Taylor also attends Running Start and advanced placement classes through Central Washington University.

As part of her page duties for the week, she learned to navigate the many buildings on the Capitol campus by delivering messages and documents to legislators and staff. She also attended page school every day to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature.
