Aberdeen officer chases down fleeing felon

An Aberdeen Police Officer on routine patrol Monday spotted a man with a felony warrant in the 800 block of East Market Street. The officer stopped the suspect and informed him of the warrant. The suspect took off running with the officer in pursuit. When he tried to elude the officer the suspect wound up running into a blocked area. When the officer tried to arrest him the suspect resisted, forcing the officer to hold the suspect down until additional officers arrived. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and now could face other charges including obstructing, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Lieutenant Kevin Darst.
