During the Oct. 6 Elma City Council meeting, Councilor Mike Cooper announced that he purchased a Mariners flag, which was on display during the council meeting, and donated it to the city.

The mayor agreed to fly the flag, which will remain aloft, except for the week of Homecoming, for as long as the Mariners are in the playoffs.

“We’re looking forward to having the Mariners in the World Series and flying our Mariners flag over Elma City Hall all during that time,” Cooper said.
