20 more COVID-19 cases reported in Grays Harbor County since Friday

The total Grays Harbor County COVID-19 case count rose to 245 with 20 new cases reported Monday by Grays Harbor County Public Health. It’s the first update since Friday.

As it stands Monday, total positive results for August have more than doubled those reported in July, 137-68. Whites have accounted for 149 positive tests, Hispanics 70, and of the total positive tests, 126 are female and 119 are male.

Current cases — those under quarantine or isolation — stood at 49 Monday, with 165 active case investigations. New contacts Monday were at 26.

According to information updated Friday that did not include the 20 cases reported since, the Hoquiam and Aberdeen zip codes accounted for just under half that total — 31 in 98550 and 80 in 98520.

Since March, Grays Harbor County Public Health has had 618 total contact investigations. According to the state Department of Health data updated Saturday, there are 22 hospitalizations in the county. A total of 6,426 tests have been given, according to state data.

Deaths related to Covid-19 stood at six Monday, 2.5% of confirmed cases, according to the Department of Health.
