Aberdeen’s First Church of Christ will be dedicated formally at services at 11 o’clock Sunday morning and 3 o’clock that afternoon.

Although the church has been used continuously since January, 1927, when the building at Third and I was partially completed, the auditorium was not finished until recently.

The church building is a two-story structure, combining Corinthian and Colonial styles of architecture. The lower portion of the building is reinforced concrete, while the upper portion is of wood with cedar siding.

It may be a merry Christmas for the children of two orphanages, and two small seminaries near Vung Tau, Viet Nam, if “Operation Snowball” in Grays Harbor succeeds.

Montesano resident Capt. Paul Fournier Jr. wrote to Mrs. Janet Trommer telling her he had become involved in helping the orphanages and seminaries while serving at a pilot with the U.S. Army’s 39th Signal Battalion — “I could give away 1,000 toothbrushes in 10 minutes. The nuns would be very happy with anything you can send.”

Mrs. Trommer, joined by Mrs. Francis Berken and other volunteers, have put out a request for hand soap, hard candy, vitamins, hair brushes, towels, toys, coloring books, crayons, marbles, balls, small dolls, small plastic cars, puzzles, toothpaste and wash clothes.
