Adan Vasquez, a member of the Raymond High School Math Team, competed in the Knowdown at the Washington State Math Council’s regional mathematics contest on March 6 in Tumwater. The Knowdown is like a spelling bee, only with math. Adan won in the second round, beating out 11 other competitors.

Another element of the regional math competition consisted of solving individual problems involving geometry, algebra and statistics. Raymond’s team of Madeline Silvernail, Destiny Souvannahvahn and Sadie Warnstadt won third place in that category.
