Bikes from Heaven comes through for local kids

Last Saturday, in the parking lot at the Grays Harbor Seaport Authority in South Aberdeen, Aberdeen Lions club members gave away about 50 bikes from their “Bicycles from Heaven” program.

Donated used bikes are restored to almost-new condition by incarcerated individuals at Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

Throughout the year, the Aberdeen Lions and the Salvation Army collect the bikes and handle the applications and distribution of the repaired bicycles to children in the community.

For information about donating or receiving a bike, contact the Salvation Army at 360-533-1062.
