Adoptable Pet: Phoenix

Phoenix is waiting to bowl you over — literally.

She’s a bit of a handful, in more ways than one. She was raised on junk food, and there’s no way to put this delicately: She’s fat. Phoenix is a young Labrador retriever/pit bull terrier mix whose poor nutrition also has left her with some skin issues. She’s now on grain-free food and getting some much-needed exercise.

Phoenix is looking for a home where she will be the only pet. She will not do well with other dogs or cats. But she’s friendly toward people and will make a good snuggle partner — especially now that her fur is making a comeback. She’s spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

You can find her at PAWS of Grays Harbor, 800 W. First St., Aberdeen. They are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. You can also visit PAWS online at www.pawsgh.org, find them on Facebook or call 360-533-1141.
