Fair temperatures greeted fishermen as they sortied their boats from harbors across the state for the dump day preceding the Dungeness crab fishery season. This year’s fishery follows a banner year last year, where total value of crab landed was $64.6 million, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

About 150 boats launched from Westport, said Molly Bold, general manager for the Westport Marina. Vessels could be seen coming and going from the harbor under a cloudy sky Monday, loading pots and launching. Recovering the pots will begin on Thursday.
